Joseph Lee Burrow was born in Ames, Iowa, on December 10, 1996.
He attended Athens High School in The Plains, Ohio, where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball.
Burrow began his college career at Ohio State University, redshirting his freshman year in 2015.
After losing out on the starting quarterback job at Ohio State, Burrow transferred to Louisiana State University (LSU) for his final two years of eligibility.
During his breakout season at LSU in 2019, Burrow led the Tigers to an undefeated record and a national championship.
Burrow was drafted first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Burrow's rookie season was cut short due to a season-ending knee injury.
He returned in 2021 and led the Bengals to their first playoff appearance in over 30 years.
Burrow's leadership and ability to make clutch plays have earned him recognition as one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL.
Burrow's philanthropic efforts include founding the Burrow Fund, which provides scholarships to students in Athens County, Ohio.
