How do you view another user's profile and posting history?

A practical answer page built from the knowledge base source.

Viewing another Reddit user's profile and their complete posting history is a straightforward and fully public action on Reddit, available to logged-in and logged-out visitors alike. The simplest method is to type reddit.com/u/username into a browser's address bar, replacing "username" with the account you want to inspect. Within Reddit's interface, clicking on any username displayed next to a post or comment takes you directly to that user's profile page. A profile page displays the user's Snoovatar or profile picture, their karma totals broken down by post and comment karma, their account age (cake day), any trophies they have earned, and a tabbed interface showing their "Posts," "Comments," "About," and in some cases a dedicated media tab for image and video submissions. The Posts tab shows every submission the user has made, sorted by the most recent by default, though you can also sort by Top (most upvoted) or filter by time period. The Comments tab shows every comment the user has made, similarly sortable. Together, these two tabs give a comprehensive view of a user's history across every subreddit they have participated in. There is no restriction on how far back in time you can scroll through another user's history — the full archive is accessible without any account age or karma requirement on the viewer's part. Reddit's native profile view is the most complete available source for a user's history, though third-party archival tools have historically provided even deeper historical access including content that a user has since deleted. As noted, Reddit's 2025 feature allowing users to hide individual posts and comments from their profile page can reduce what is visible via the profile tabs, but does not prevent those items from being found in subreddit threads.
